Watchlist: The Multiverse app provides a preview of what the actual metaverse will look probably like. Here’s a quick breakdown of its most important features.
Users can create and share their own VR experiences (called “metaverses” in the context of Multiverse) without any modeling or coding knowledge.
There is a free plan that allows new users to set up metaverses. However, it has limited functionalities (i.e. no videos) and storage capacity.
Those metaverses include a variety of experiences, including zmobie shootouts, a Planetarium, and art/history galleries.
New users receive 500 free Metacoins (the app’s in-world currency) for signing up. Metacoins can be used to buy Infiniverse properties.
The app is still in pre-beta, so new futures are constantly getting added. For example, users will soon have access to jet packs!
The platform also includes Infiniverse, which serves as an ever-growing virtual city. Users can purchase storefronts to advertise their businesses and metaverses. They can also purchase apartments and penthouses.
It hosts a variety of events and social gatherings, including concerts, comedy shows, educational seminars, clubs, chambers of commerce, and NFT showcases.
Future Tech Labs, the developers of the Multiverse platform, created an official Facebook group filled with active users who are ready to help and share their experiences.
The app is currently only available on the Oculus Quest 2.
